3)PRAYER TIME
(prepared by [Josh Hage )
"My House shall be called a House of prayer."(Matthew 21:13) Those words of Jesus are both a reminder to us and a call to action. God's House is no longer a temple building in Jerusalem, but a living breathing Body, made of true believers. Each one of us, a Living Stone, comes together in Christ, our Chief Cornerstone to make this new, spiritual temple. Therefore, just as God wanted his Temple to be known as a house of prayer, in the same way, he wants our very lives, which now make up this new Temple, to be characterized by prayer. In light of Christ's command to be people of prayer, here are 5 things we can pray for this week.
1.) Pray that we would Honor God with our lives: (Matthew 6:9) When we Honor God, we recognize that he is the ultimate authority. When God is on the throne of our hearts, and only then, can we live in such a way that we experience true Peace, and Hope, and Joy.
2.) Pray that we live with boldness: (Acts 4: 28-29) (Eph 6:19-20) (Ps 138:3) Brothers and Sisters, in this tumultuous time, let us speak the Truth boldly! Now is the time to preach the good news, both with our words and with our actions. Let us not confuse politeness with timidity or cowardice, but let us pray for, and seek out opportunities to share our Faith. If the Lord is for us, who can be against us!
3.) Pray for Wisdom: (James 1:5) True wisdom, begins with recognizing God for who He is. More valuable than riches, Wisdom leads us down the right(and righteous) path. In this critical time in the history of our nation and our Church, let us seek to do what is wise. The Lord is generous in giving us the wisdom we need, we only need to ask Him.
4.) Pray for our Nation: (Prov 14:34) Righteousness exalts a Nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Let us pray that our Nation does what is right, turns away from evil, and seeks the Lord!
5.) Pray for our church: (Acts 2:42) Let us continue to pray for our church, in our little corner of the world. Pray for our new building. Pray that we would be a light in our community. Pray for our elders. Pray that we as a church are in step with God's Spirit. Pray that as we walk in step with God's Spirit, others would come and join us.
