The advent week of hope is a wonderful opportunity to reflect anew on where a Christian’s hope is found. This hope in Christ has been a bastion for believers in some of the darkest times in human history. One hymn writer has captured it so well by writing, “This is all my hope and peace, nothing but the blood of Jesus. This is all my righteousness, nothing but the blood of Jesus.” How beautiful is the sure promise of God that what He has begun in the first coming of Christ He will complete in the second coming of Christ when we will be with Him forevermore. As we turn to prayer for one another, consider first thanking the Lord for the hope that is in Christ. It is so encouraging as we look on the waves of our present circumstances to be able to say, “it is well with my soul.” Pray for those in our body whose jobs and businesses have been impacted by Covid. Pray for those who have it that they may be healed. Pray for those in our congregation that are at higher risk that they might be protected. Pray for all of us that we might be warriors for the cause of the gospel and not worriers in the face of the world’s ills. Pray always for the boldness to proclaim the good news to a world that is dwelling in darkness.

Oak Grove Family!,
This week we will be at home praising our Lord with song and the study of His word. Patrick Bloom will be bringing us a message from God's word. This is our second Sunday of our Advent series focusing on Hope. Our plan was to meet in person, with an online counterpart, but all of our music teams are either sick or quarantining. We will continue to evaluate each week as to where or how we will meet the following Sunday. We ask for your continued prayers for God's wisdom and guidance.

Building Update: We are still waiting to hear back from the Seller. We agreed with and accepted their counter offer to fix an issue with the title. The item that they are agreeing to correct is the legal description of the property. This will require a new survey of the property and some county documents to be submitted. The physical dimension and position of the property is correct, but the legal description is not. Your prayers continue to be a vital part of this purchase process. Continue to pray for quick execution of this title fix and that the Seller will agree to this final step. Good News Rescue Mission ( cookies) Please contact Molly Gonzalez if you would like to help with making cookies for the Good News Rescue Mission this year. We are looking for people who could make a dozen or two cookies and then bag them up in pairs to be handed out at the GNRM Christmas party. Message from Churchill: Dear Family, Our brothers and sisters in Nigeria are facing unprecedented food shortage, food crisis and hardship since this year. Coronavirus global pandemic has escalated the problems. Thank you family for supporting us early this year to provide medicines and free medical treatment to these poor families in Nigeria. We’ll still show the video when things normalize again.
Goal: Our goal now is to raise money and take to Nigeria to purchase raw bulk foods for these families.
